HDR Landscapes

HDR in photography is a technique that involves capturing multiple images of the same scene at different exposure levels and then blending them together to create a single image. This process allows photographers to capture a wider range of tonal values.

I really like this photo because of the unrealistic clouds it has. The clouds really contrast the ground since the clouds are darker. I also really like that the one person in this photo doesn’t have any clouds on top of them but to the side as if they sky was opening for the person.

FILE FORMATS

  1. JPEG: It is widely a default format for cameras, and it uses lossy compression to reduce file size while maintaining image quality.
  2. HEIF: A modern format that combines the benefits of JPEG and HEVC, it also supports high-quality images with smaller file sizes.
  3. TIFF: A lossless format that preserves the original image quality and is widely used for professional printing and high-resolution images.
  4. RAW: This is ideal for editing images extensively and it’s an unprocessed format that captures the full spectrum of colors and details in an image.
  5. DNG: Allows for the storage of multiple images, including metadata, in a single file.
  6. PNG: This file supports transparency and is widely used for web graphic and images that require a transparent background
  7. GIF: A format that supports 256 colors and is used for simple images and animations.
  8. BMP: Typically uncompressed, resulting in large file sizes but high quality, but not efficient for storage.
  9. PSD: Can be saved in a lossless format, preserving layers, editing capabilities and supports multiple layers.

Pop Artist

  1. Pop art is an art movement that uses imagery from popular culture.
  2. Lichtenstein’s work is considered pop art because he turned familiar comic book panels into large scale paintings.
  3. Brushstroke is a single paint stroke that is exaggerated to a stylized symbol of painting.
  4. I picked Roy Lichtenstein because of his different pop art, and I really liked the colors and how his works look like old comic books.

Henri Cartier Bresson

These are two photos taken by Henri Cartier Bresson. These two photos really popped out to me as they convey the two types of love. The photo on the left shows maybe a couple sharing a moment. The man holding the woman’s hand and guiding her. Maybe in hopes to her not getting wet. The woman trusting the man to be there on the other side. The picture on the right shows motherly love. A woman is taking care of a little boy, who seems to be looking up at the lady. This is the other side of love not something romantic but nurturing. I chose these photos because of their contrasting love yet similar in themes.
